F-Secure Internet Security Suite - Firewall Rules.
In this example we are going to create a rule that is going to "deny" access to
a complete domain on the internet. We are also want to be informed if an attempt
to that domain is made. But in this example we are going to create a rule which
is going to contradict the previous application
control we created. In other words, the Application Control which we allowed
internet access to (OutLook Express) we are going to create a more restrictive rule
which will "Deny" access to OutLook Express(if using Hotmail) and any other
service that utilizes that domain.
Lets begin.
Open F-Secure Security Suite and click on the Internet Shield Tab as seen below.

Now where it says "Firewall" click on the "Configure..." text to open the Firewall
dialog box as seen below.

We are going to now add a new Rule. Click the "Add.." button for the "Add New
Rule" wizard. The Rule name can be anything you want. It should be something that
is easily recognizable. Name your rule and on the rule type ensure "Deny" is selected.
Click "Next".

Here is where you select who this rule applies to. We want to select a domain,
so click "Edit...".

We are going to "Deny" all webpage's and services under the domain (services.msn.com) as
shown below. In the DNS name text box, type in the name as seen (or any DNS name
desired) and click "Add To List". Click "OK".

Confirmation is shown, click "Next".

Select a service for this rule. For this example we are going to select "All IP
Traffic". Now what we also need to do here is make sure we have a direction (incoming,
outgoing or both) for this rule. You see the little "?
" mark in the image below, click on it until you see a green arrow pointing in both
directions.

The green arrow pointing in both directions indicate both inbound and outbound
traffic. So this rule will apply to all ip traffic in both directions. Click "Next".

Now we would want to be alerted to any attempt made to the Rule (optional).
Select "Log and pop-up" and Click "Next".

The "New Rule Summary" dialog box is displayed, Click "Finish".

You can now see under the "Rules" tab, your new Rule is created and enabled.

Now try connecting OutLook to your Hotmail account. It will fail and a warning
box will be shown as below.

Remember
. To delete the Rule just select the rule and click "Remove".
