Windows Vista Backup and Restore Center.
With Windows Vista you can backup copies of all your personal data and files and quickly restore the files in the event of deletion, modification or corruption.
You can also create a complete PC backup which will enable you to restore your entire computer(Operating System, Programs, settings etc) in the event of complete system failure.
Note: Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore is not included with Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Home Premium.
With Backup you can:
- Schedule backups of your personal files on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
- Backup files to a hard disk, CD, DVD or Network Drive.
- Nominate file types to backup.
With Restore you can:
- Restore files from latest or older backups.
- Restore files from network drives.
- Select individual files and folders to restore.
- Restore files to original location or alternative location.
Note: You cannot backup a single file, however you can restore a single file.
Backing up files to an external hard disk and setting a backup schedule of at least once a week is recommended. Once you have set up a backup schedule, the backup will run in the background allowing you to continue working without interruption.
