Windows Vista Parental Control.
Parental control within Windows Vista is a computer security feature designed for
parents to restrict children or users from using certain programs and viewing certain
websites. The Parental control feature can also be used restrict access to
the computer using time limits. The feature is extremely powerful and flexible and
easy to use and implement.
Note: Parental Controls do not function for Games installed on FAT partitions. For

Assign Parental Control Restriction.
To assign Parental Control restrictions to a Vista user account follow these easy
steps.
Start
the Windows Vista Parental Controls Management Console. Click Start and click Control
Panel. In the Control Panel, click Parental Controls.
You might be asked for the Administrators password.
Select
the User account you want to assign Parental Control restriction.

On
the User Controls dialog, under Parental Controls, click On, enforce current settings.
Under Activity Reporting click On, collect information about computer usage.

Under
Windows Settings, click Windows Vista Web Filter.
On the Web Restrictions Management page you have several security options and
restriction levels that you can implement for the user.
Under Block web content automatically, Click Custom.
Here you can filter out websites based on categories.

Under Allow and Block specific websites, you can enforce further non categorized
web site restriction. If you are concerned about chat groups, you can block all
access to those web sites.

You can also restrict the user to Times of the day. You an prevent the user from
using the computer at certain times of the day as well as days of the week.
Another great feature is Games Control. You can prevent the user from playing Games
or allow only certain Games to be played or Games based on age rating.
