Windows Defender.
Windows Defender is a tool to help protect your computer from spyware and other
malicious software. Windows Defender real-time protection will alert you when unwanted
software attempts to install itself or when installed software attempts to change
important operating system settings. You can perform manual scan on drives and folders
as well as schedule scans.
 Note: Windows Defender is NOT a replacement for
antivirus software.
Configuring Windows Defender
To configure Windows defender to automatically scan your PC at a certain time of the day, follow these instruction.
Open Control Panel.
Double click, "Windows Defender".
On the top menu, click "Tools".
On the Tools and Settings page, select "Options".
On the Options page, ensure "Automatically scan my computer" is checked, for frequency select "Daily", for Appropriate time choose a time when you are sure you will be logged on to your PC.
Click "Save".
